The Forest

Some of the music on David Byrne's album 'The Forest' was originally used in a theatre piece with the same name, directed by Robert Wilson. 'The Forest' premiered at the Theater der Freien Volksbuhne, Berlin in 1988.

Tracks:

  1. Ur
  2. Kish
  3. Dura Europus
  4. Samara
  5. Nineveh
  6. Ava
  7. Machu Picchu

The US-long box package contains a warning sign from the record company: 'Warners wants you to know that this album contains orchestral music'

And well, they're pretty right about that :)

The only single release from the album is titled 'Forestry' and contains a couple of dance mixes of original 'Forest'- tracks.

  1. Ava (Nu Wage Remix)
  2. Nineveh (Industrial Mix)
  3. Ava (Less Space Dance Mix Edit)
  4. Ava (Space Dance mix)
  5. Machu Picchu (Album Version)
